Twitter, text, and e-mail can be used every day to send out prayers, suggests Irish Cardinal Sean Brady.
“Such a sea of prayer is sure to strengthen our sense of solidarity with one another and remind those who receive them that others really do care,” he said, according to the U.K. Times.
Social networking can bring together pray-ers, but it can also increase the emotion distance between people. CNN reports on a study that found that Twitter is too fast for us to respond compassionately to others’ pain, making us more indifferent to suffering.
"For some kinds of thought, especially moral decision-making about other people's social and psychological situations, we need to allow for adequate time and refection," a researcher told CNN.
