another way to start the braid

There is another way to start the braid, on each piece of palm, fold about twice the with of the palm over, interlock these end together and then follow the instruction on the video, this makes a square flat bottom to the braid so that it will stand up....

Braiding

As far back as I can remember, my grandfather, Joseph Mirabello, had braided Palm Sunday palms, and gave them to his family and grandchildren. He was a shoe cobbler, who started his apprenticeship in Italy at the age of 6. He also used the same braid as tassels on the penny loafer that he made. I am 54 and he passed in 1988 at the age of 82. I now do the same thing for my children and relatives.

Palm Sunday crafts

HI JERRY.
I OBSERVE THAT THE VIDEO ON HOW TO BRAID A PALM FOR PALM SUNDAY AIN'T PLAYING.
ON PALM SUNDAY, I HAVE MY OWN PALM BUT DIDN'T BRAID IT AND ALSO REALISED THAT I WASN'T THE ONLY ONE. CAN IT BE BRAIDED ANY HOW OR,IS THERE A SPECIFIC STYLE?
