Silence By Darrell Grayson

Silence
Peculiar in kinds
Elevating emotions and sounds A sniff
Calibre unconfirmed,

A sneaky clod
The moans
Of a lost child?

The howling March wind
Shakes its fist at silence
Challenging
In contests of brutality.

Silence
On numerous occasions amplifies
The beating hearts of 28 desperate souls Locked in perpetual echoes,
In silence;
The wonderment of moons Racing across the worlds
illuminating silences of a kind. In silence,
We…
Curse
Question
Worship
and beseech God,
Silence,

As a desert burning
Hot to the marrow
We stagger about in it
Choking on its vapors
Longing
For something to shatter it
So that it resonates
Like crystals falling as rain,
Silence
Ever ready the ocasion
To speak and witness
As chamber music,
Heartbreak and doom.
