Joan D. Chittister, O.S.B. is a lecturer, author, and columnist. Her most recent book is The Friendship of Women: A Spiritual Tradition (Sheed & Ward, 2001). She is the founder and executive director of Benetvision: A Resource and Research Center for Contemporary Spirituality.
