Packers create scandal!

The Super Bowl is NOT more important than Mass, a Catholic from Appleton, Wisconsin wrote in a letter to his local paper [1]:

"From our Bishops down to our priests, the worship of the Packers is a priority and the worship of Almighty God is secondary," wrote Vincent Bemowski, who is angry that a 6:30 p.m. Sunday at his parish was canceled.

While I agree that the Packers deserve neither prayers nor worship, is it that bad that a Mass was canceled? Aren't there at least three other Masses you could go to? Yeah, cheeseheads might be a tad more obsessed with the Pack than most sports fan, but this debate speaks to a much deeper issue: As Catholics should we be so removed from culture that it doesn't affect us, or should we look for intersections between faith and culture?
