I only listed what I was because of a comment telling me I can not call myself Catholic.

You could call yourself a giraffe, that doesn't make it true.

The Church teaches that I am Catholic through my baptism, and confirmed into the Church at confirmation.

The Church does not, however, teach that I am a giraffe!

Catholicism is what defines me, I desire nothing more than to be Catholic. If one were to ask me to describe my identity in one word, it would be "Catholic!" I LOVE my Church!

Peace!

That is probably the best thing you could have said. It is a reason to rejoice. Now you have to start learning and accepting what the Catholic Church teaches.

Anyone who obstinately persists in rejecting even only one article of the Catholic Faith is a heretic, and not a Catholic. I don't think you are a heretic. I think you are in error. So don't be obstinate - learn what the Church teaches and accept it with the full assent of faith.

"whosoever shall keep the whole law, but offend in one point, is become guilty of all." (James 2,10)

"Q. 554. Could a person who denies only one article of our faith be a Catholic?
A. A person who denies even one article of our faith could not be a Catholic; for truth is one and we must accept it whole and entire or not at all." (Baltimore Catechism #3)

"Just as mortal sin is contrary to charity, so is disbelief in one article of faith contrary to faith. Now charity does not remain in a man after one mortal sin. Therefore neither does faith, after a man disbelieves one article." (St. Aquinas, ST 2,2 Q5 A3)

God loves you, Loyally Dissenting Catholic. Now love your wife by showing her she's more than an object for pleasure. Go and learn about Natural Family Planning with your wife and begin denying yourself. Matthew 16:24.

"Would you rather a man use a condom, or would you rather an abortion take place?"

The obvious answer that real Catholics, as opposed to "dissenting Catholics" give, is that neither the one mortal sin, nor the other mortal sin is acceptable. The purpose of sex is procreation - that is not only the universal judgment of the Church Fathers, it is also the only position consistent with the fact that all sex occurring outside of marriage is mortally sinful. We are not placed on this Earth for the purpose of sating our senses. We are placed here for the purpose of gaining Heaven.

if that % is even true, that truth does not come from a majority vote. 80% of all priests and bishops in 325 agreed with Arianism, did that make it true?

God has given us a mechanism to determine the truth and it has nothing to do with opinion polls.

Johnny Z's followers are not representative of most Catholics, otherwise they would not need to attack us.

That's FATHER John Zuhlsdorf to you. This is supposed to be a Catholic website, is it not? Or are you too enlightened to offer him the courtesy?
