One of the greatest things about the US Catholic Church is that it is "All God; All the Time" and even when I was employed and went to Las Vegas annually with a bowling league, I loved going to different local Churches for Mass on Sunday. They have them all day long! Plus it was a treat to visit a nearby neighborhood parish to see local customs blended with the Traditions I am so familiar with. My favorite is the 'Roman Catholic Shrine of the Most Holy Redeemer' just off the strip on Reno Avenue. Talk about 'universal' Church! There were folks there from all over the world and we all would come together to worship and the "pastor" (he was a travelling Priest) would have us introduce ourselves to those around us before Mass and say where we come from/live.
I don't care where you go, you miss so much of what is truly catholic/universal about the Catholic Church if you don't seek one out while on out of town! The breathtaking Chapel in Sadona, AZ is a tiny worship space and no Mass, but a architectural marvel nestled into the red clay mesa. If you are ever in doubt, just go to www.masstimes.org and you can find a mass anywhere in the world! Take your faith with you wherever you shall roam!
