Printer-friendly version Comments Women are second class Women are second class citizens in the Catholic Church. Not all priests feel this way, but a lot of the hierarchy still feel this way. I am blessed with good priests who do not feel this way or act indifferently to women in the church. Treatment of women in the Church I have never felt like a second-class citizen in the Church! As the mother of a Catholic priest, I am blessed beyond measure. People are people. Individuals are going to treat women a certain way, no matter what institution they are a part of. Just because women aren't priests doesn't mean the Church is "treating" women like second-class citizens. I dont understand radical I dont understand radical feminists in our world. seriously, the teachings of the catholic church a quite solid when it comes to the treatment of men and women. However, as with all faiths, we are run be individuals, human beings who, unlike God are flawed. Of course people are going to feel cast out and treated badly when people are in charge of institutions. People are prejudiced no matter what, so you cant blame the institution for the actions of people in it. It is part of our human nature, and thus you should instead look at the teachings and understand what they are trying to say.
