personal apostolateYour Personal Apostolate: Accepting and Sharing the Love of God by Michele Elena Bondi (Joseph Karl Publishing)

Your Personal Apostolate takes you on a beautiful journey of nine key Catholic beliefs, discussing God’s love, our journey here on earth, following God’s example, faith and much more. The author uses scripture, commentary, personal accounts, and reflection questions to draw the reader in to the concepts she describes so well.

As you read this book you will follow a natural progression of concepts and thoughts about God. Each chapter introduces a topic with relevant scripture to help you focus on where the ideas originated from. Then an explanation follows to help the reader grasp the concept intellectually. The personal reflection makes the intellectual thoughts more concrete by adding in a more emotional component. The author shares her own, often painful, memories and experiences to help us realize that God is with us through our struggles.

Finally, each chapter ends with questions to ponder and a prayer. This helps to take the information gathered and turn it towards ourselves, providing an opportunity for self-examination. The prayer is an excellent conclusion to each chapter and helps us internalize the concepts the author offers. We ask our Lord to assist with adding new ideas, or old idea we have never managed to grasp, so we can increase the love, joy, and peace we experience.

Your Personal Apostolate: Accepting and Sharing the Love of God is a wonderful tool to help anyone deepen their relationship with God. The format of the book would also work very well in a book discussion or bible study group. I highly recommend this book to any Christian person who would like to feel more connected to our God.
