Not to beat a dead horse, but given all the volume the U.S. bishops and Catholic journalists (such as the editors of Commonweal and E.J. Dionne) are giving to this issue, it's worth parsing just who is being "forced" to pay for the Pill. I don't think anyone is paying attention to how complex the issue is, especially the definition of a "Catholic" institution.

You may have heard by now that the U.S. Catholic bishops aren't too thrilled (to put it mildly) with the Obama administration's refusal to grant a broader religious exemption to the mandate that employee health care plans include coverage of contraception.
