The Archdiocese of Chicago announced the recently retired Cardinal Francis George has ended a clinical trial he was participating in to treat cancer, as scans indicated the experimental drug was not effective for him.

Mehmet Ali Agca, the Turkish man who tried to assassinate St. John Paul II in 1981, was expelled from Italy Monday after visiting his tomb.
