Leaders from the LCWR met with Vatican officials today to discuss charges that the group has gone a bit rogue. The Vatican said, "The meeting provided the opportunity for the Congregation and the LCWR officers to discuss the issues and concerns raised by the doctrinal assessment in an atmosphere of openness and cordiality." Though, apparently the media has been getting the coverage of this issue all wrong, say two bishops.

In England, clashes about same-sex marriage between the church and the government are brewing. State-side, a Catholic teacher in Minnesota has been fired for her stance on same-sex marriage. Also in Minnesota, where same-sex marriage is a hot topic du jour, an openly gay priest at St. John's University discusses his ministry to gay and lesbian students.
