The Holy Father picked a nun to oversee this, so there should be no complaints about the hierarchy being insensitive. There is certainly SOME problem in religious orders today, given the lack of vocations. The inspection is perfectly logical and justified.
The simple fact is that today many orders aren't very Christian or Catholic at all, and want to go on doing as they wish.

The visitation is probably irrelevant as there will soon be no Sisters left to visit. The reformed Sisters have not borne fruit. It's all over for them.

Be aware that Mr. John Zuhlsdorf has hijacked this poll.

You have quite a sense of humor, Carl. Do you spend a lot of time alone?

Luke, that is a very uncharitable thing to say.

You respond to an inappropriate comment with one even worse?

I thought this was to discuss the inquisition against women religious?

There is no such thing as a "loyally dissenting Catholic". Every person dissenting from the authentic teaching of the Catholic Church is on the road to eternal damnation.

Get off that road!

No, you're wrong. It's too discuss a necessary doctrinal investigation of U.S. women religious.

You are right. I digress. All apologies, Carl.

Father Zuhlsdorf did not hijack the poll. He linked to it on his blog. There is nothing illegal or dishonest about that. In fact, he is greatly expanding the paltry readership of this website by doing so. :-)

Why would linking to a poll be hijacking?
